2025 Beginner Montana Soccer Digital Referee Course
This course includes only online modules. You must complete all portions of the course to earn the Digital Referee License.
IF YOU ARE AGE 13 - 17, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO TAKE THE FIRST TIME REFEREE COURSE, WHICH INCLUDES AN IN-PERSON SESSION IF ONE IS AVAILABLE LOCALLY
Taking this course will not allow you to earn premium pay, referee bonuses or upgrade to any higher levels of competition until you are a full referee. If you were registered as a referee for 2022, 2023 or 2024, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS COURSE.
This course is for NEW referees OR those returning to the game after more than 5 year absence.
Upon successful completion of this online module, the referee will be able to work sanctioned games from August 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025 - provided all necessary requirements have been met and maintained.
This course does not lead to the opportunities to earn premium pay or advance to higher referee grades (Regional, National, etc) This course certifies you to work any 'grassroots' youth or adult game in Montana.
U.S. Soccer requires that all referees must be 13-years-old at the time of registration, no exceptions.
Those 18 and over must complete SafeSport and submit/pass a background check in the Learning Center ($31.21).
Total cost is $40 and covers registration with U.S. Soccer, Badge, Liability Insurance and Clinic.
